Tidewardens

★★★★☆ 4.4 Editor rating

Tidewardens asks you to defend a string of fishing towns, but the twist is water. You redirect rivers and flood channels to slow attackers, which turns every map into a little puzzle on top of the usual tower placement.

It's slower than most strategy games on phones, and that's a compliment. You get time to think, pause between waves, and rework your defenses without a timer screaming at you. The difficulty curve is fair, climbing steadily without sudden walls.

Everything saves locally and plays offline, so we burned through a dozen levels on a bus with no signal and never hit a loading hiccup.
